Basketball Victoria COVID-19 Update

Dear Coburg Basketball Association Members,

The Victorian Government, on advice from the Department of Health (formerly DHHS), has chosen to extend the circuit-breaker lockdown for Greater Melbourne, with these measures staying in effect from Thursday 3 June at 11.59pm until Thursday 10 June at 11.59pm.

In line with Victorian Government health directives, basketball in Greater Melbourne will remain at the RED-0 REACTIVATION LEVEL as per the Basketball Victoria Return to Sport Guidelines.

With the lessening of circuit-breaker restrictions in Regional Victoria, basketball in those regions will only be able to move to the RED-10 REACTIVATION LEVEL (OUTDOOR ONLY).

Outdoor activity is restricted to a maximum of 10 people per group. Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies. Organised outdoor community sport is permitted for children (those who wish to commit to outdoor games for ages 18 and under), with adults restricted to training only.

We will be in close communication with the Department of Health and Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) to ensure indoor basketball can reactivate as quickly as possible following the current restrictions.

Business Support Package

The Victorian Government has also announced a Circuit Breaker Business Support Package to assist small to medium size businesses throughout the lockdown.
