To our loyal, patient Coburg Basketball Association members.
Moreland City Council is pleased to complete the $185,000 upgrade to Coburg Basketball Stadium, following a funding submission from the Coburg Basketball Association and Sports Stadiums Victoria.
The following improvements to the stadium include:
- drainage and concrete works to fix water ponding surrounding the basketball stadium;
- basketball flooring frame repairs which involved repairing around 134 stumps; and
- refinishing the internal floor surface to meet the Basketball Victoria standards including line marking of three multipurpose courts and one basketball court
We look forward to seeing these improvements in action during the upcoming season.
We are elated to confirm that works have commenced on our beloved Coburg Basketball Stadium,
Monday 1st March.
There are 3 Stages of work to be completed:
- Sub flooring repaired – no impact on the site to commence 01 March 2021.
- Roof plumbing – no impact on the site and can be done concurrently with sub flooring to commence 01 March 2021.
- Drum sanding of 4 courts, line markings on all 4 courts as multi purpose to increase day time usage, and updated decal artwork on court 1 – which is to commence on the 08 March 2021.
Timeline proposed is for the stadium to be operational for return to basketball on Saturday 10th April for our first Big V Coburg Giants home game of 2021!

Coburg Basketball Association is very fortunate to have so many passionate members and we appreciate all your support regarding the remarking of our Court 1 to remain a show court and not a multipurpose court.
We would like to confirm Court 1 at Coburg Basketball Stadium will remain our show court.
