Expression of Interest for an upcoming West Coast USA Tour 2023

Scheduled for June 2023

The tour will be lead by Coburg Giants Big V D2W Head coach David Pearson, Cameron Rigby and outgoing D2W Head Coach, Amanda Aldridge.

Our tour will be open to both individual athletes and teams (coaches / parents travel at reduced rates).

All coaches are NBL, NBL1 or Big V ex players or coaches.

The plan at this stage for our U16-18 BOYS tour:

Approx. 2 weeks travel time (currently planning for JUNE 8th to JUNE 21st)
Visiting San Francisco and Sacramento, California.
We have been invited to play in St. Mary’s College’s on-campus team camp. (3 days living & playing on a Div 1 campus)
Exclusive training sessions and campus tours for our groups at both Univ. of California Berkeley and Sacramento State University.
Guided tours of both the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings training facilities.
Visiting the awesome landmarks around San Francisco (bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, tour of Alcatraz island, Fisherman’s Wharf)

(We have also been invited to join a high school tournament in Hawaii. We’re still working on making that work in terms of time and cost.)

The plan at this stage for our U16-18 GIRLS tour:

Approx. 2 weeks travel time (currently planning for JUNE 14th to JUNE 28th)
Visiting Hawai’i, Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles.
3-4 day High School tournament in Hawai’i.
2 nights visiting the iconic city of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Participate in both the Skills Camp and Team Camp and live on-campus at the Univ. of San Diego (CA), 4-5 days.
Finish up with a visit to Disneyland in Los Angeles.

Our tours cover airfares, accommodation, ground transport, all tournaments and camps entry fees, and all group-based tourist attractions. Food, souvenirs and other incidentals etc will be at traveller’s expense.

As always, we aim to make things as cost-effective as possible. As details come together, we will know more about probable costs. We will start making bookings as early as we have required confirmed numbers.

Typically, the earlier we have our team(s) set, the sooner we can book, the better prices we can get on flights & accommodation!
