The Board is responsible for ensuring the organisation sets and meets its strategic goals and objectives, is administered according to the Association Rules and all legal and compliance obligations.

The Board sets strategic goals and objectives for management’s implementation and performance of these, authorises management policies, and oversees the governance of the Association.

The Board is responsible for protecting the interests of Association Members and stakeholders.

In order to fulfill its role and achieve the objectives of the Association the Board has developed a Board Organisation Chart with sub committees structured to ensure oversight of the tasks of the Association.  In completing this task, the Board formed the view that these committees would be more effective if those amongst the Association Membership who were willing and enthusiastic joined these committees to contribute their skills and expertise.

The following chart shows the overall structure that the Board has designed.

In addition each Board sub-committee has a charter to give members an understanding of what each committee's focus will be.  To view these charters, please proceed to the CBA Organisation Structure page. 

While the Board will be providing a chair and some Director members for each sub-committee, and provide the focus for each committee, the particular logistics of each committee will be decided by that committee.  Some committees may choose to meet more often than has been suggested, others might meet only as needed.

While these Board sub committees will have no delegated authority from the Board to act independently, they will perform the critical function of making recommendation to the Board in relation to those activities in their portfolios.

This will contribute to a coordinated and comprehensive series of recommendations for Board decision from across the Association as a whole.
